"The Doctors Are In..."
Kristina, I got your message. I believe that we both finished the physical therapy post-grad transitional clinical doctorate program this weekend!!! Kristina did a 1-year program at Jefferson. I completed a class at a time at Neumann where I got my masters (started back in January 2007). Congratulations Doctor Kristina; we did it! Thank you to my parents, sisters, and Mike for helping out with the girls. As I told my mom, now I can just focus on my family and work and enjoy the holidays!!!! Thinking of my girls helped me push through this final stretch:
(Kristin visited us the end of November gave her Shamu stuffed animals. Cally insisted on taking the smaller one. We said okay and carried on our conversation. When I walked out into the living room, I saw the "big" Shamu on Maya. Cally lovingly insisted on Maya having the "big" Shamu.)

Happy Holidays from NYC
What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to go to New York City. After a quick lunch with Aunt Mary and Uncle Charlie, we walked around Rockefeller Center before heading over to Radio City Music Hall to see the Rockettes. One of our stops was to the Swarovski store....very pretty!!!

Haiku
Here are 2 Haiku I thought up on my way to work today...
Thirty-two degrees
Wind blowing the leaves around
Oh my, it is cold
Wind that chills the bone
The leaves give in to defeat
Please turn on the heat
2nd Annual Oplinger Oktoberfest
The 2nd Annual Oplinger Oktoberfest took place on October 16, 2010. A good time was had by all, a drunk time was had by some...
yea, yea, I'm a little slow getting these pictures up (blame school...)

Aunt Mary pours and tastes the first beer (Uncle Dave's homemade beer)

Happy Halloween!!!
We had such a fun weekend! Mike had the whole weekend off, so it was nice for us all to be together! On Saturday, we went to our friends' annual Halloween party. I was Rachel Zoe, Mike was a guy riding and ostrich (lol!!!), and Cally was happy to wear her Minnie costume again. On Sunday, we carved pumpkins, which was the first time for Mike and I. I remember baking pumpkin seeds one time visiting Aunt Linda, which I wanted to do later... but Mike threw all of the scoopings out!!! lol I walked Cally around our court (in Mike's ostrich costume; I plan on wearing that every year now!!!). Cally got the hang of trick-or-treating; she was too cute. Maya slept in her little cow costume while we were out... dreaming of "candy, candy, candy, candy, candy!"

Ghouls and Fools
Shauna did this trail run last year and loved it. When I told her I was doing the mud run earlier this year, she insisted we do this run as well. And....so we did. I talked two of my friends to join in the fun. There was six of us in our group who somehow managed to get through this 6 mile torturous trek in the dark. Half of it was pretty much a hike up a mountain while the whole time you can not even think about looking up or getting too confident without slipping or tripping on a rock or fallen tree limbs. The last mile down the mountain...all I could think about was finishing as I had a major blister on the instep of each of my feet and I was so tired of slipping on rocks!!!! We finished strong and had a blast hanging out afterwards with a couple of pitchers of beer, some shots of jager, and the sounds of man playing the accordion!!

Minnie Mouse at Longwood Gardens?
I took the girls to Longwood Gardens today. Kids were welcome to dress up in costumes. Cally proudly wore her Minnie Mouse costume, and Maya and I wore our orange tops. We had such a good time. The conservatory was full of mums, and Cally did a coloring activity. Outside, we caught a fountain show with music, and we walked through my favorite garden section outside where Cally stopped to smell just about every flower! Besides a major meltdown from Cally as we left the gardens, both girls were very good. It was great to see so many mums (my fav flower) and neat to see all the kids coming in their costumes (we ran into another Minnie Mouse). One of the newest additions is a long hallway of walls full of thousands of different greens and 16 private bathrooms (private and family) - pretty cool!
