Ghouls and Fools

Shauna did this trail run last year and loved it. When I told her I was doing the mud run earlier this year, she insisted we do this run as well. And....so we did. I talked two of my friends to join in the fun. There was six of us in our group who somehow managed to get through this 6 mile torturous trek in the dark. Half of it was pretty much a hike up a mountain while the whole time you can not even think about looking up or getting too confident without slipping or tripping on a rock or fallen tree limbs. The last mile down the mountain...all I could think about was finishing as I had a major blister on the instep of each of my feet and I was so tired of slipping on rocks!!!! We finished strong and had a blast hanging out afterwards with a couple of pitchers of beer, some shots of jager, and the sounds of man playing the accordion!!

At the end of the night....Shauna was talking and I looked at her and said...I really can't take you seriously while you are wearing those pigtails!!!....and then the witch freaked out!

Minnie Mouse at Longwood Gardens?

I took the girls to Longwood Gardens today. Kids were welcome to dress up in costumes. Cally proudly wore her Minnie Mouse costume, and Maya and I wore our orange tops. We had such a good time. The conservatory was full of mums, and Cally did a coloring activity. Outside, we caught a fountain show with music, and we walked through my favorite garden section outside where Cally stopped to smell just about every flower! Besides a major meltdown from Cally as we left the gardens, both girls were very good. It was great to see so many mums (my fav flower) and neat to see all the kids coming in their costumes (we ran into another Minnie Mouse). One of the newest additions is a long hallway of walls full of thousands of different greens and 16 private bathrooms (private and family) - pretty cool!

girl's night!

On Saturday I had class in Philly so I planned to go to Shauna's after class. I helped her run some errands. First 2 stores went well...besides a small meltdown over a princess chair in babies-r-us and picking up beads that were alllll over the floor from a necklace Cally broke accidently. (Shauna, how do you do it alone?!?) Before the 3rd store we had to drive around the parking lot a few times until everyone was asleep! Then I sat in the car with 2 sleeping beauties while Shauna ran inside. When we got back to Shauna's I helped make some dinner and goodies in preparation for Aunt Kelli and Ashley's visit. We watched Hocus Pocus while sipping hot cocoa and fall flavored wine...yummy!

On Sunday Shauna, Cally, Maya, Otis, & I (phew) went for a walk. What a wonderful Fall day!! It's walks like this and weekends with your family that fill your heart up and temporarily relieve the stress!

Fall is Fun!

Here are some pics my sister-in-law took at our adventure at Freddies Hills Farms this past Sunday. We walked through a corn maze that ended at a big slide. (I thought I was totally going to lose control on the slide!!! LOL!) We went on a hay ride to the pumpkin fields. Before departing, we ate lunch and got some Freddie Hills ice cream. Yum!

"She-Ra! She-Ra!"

Kristin came down to visit last night. We had a lot of fun. Stopped at Target to get some things. I was looking for a Disney princess movie for Cally. They did not have anything, but all of a sudden, I heard Kristin gasp and say, "She-Ra! Season One! I'm getting this for Cally!" As Kristin grabbed it, a guy about our age walked by hearing the commotion and smiled. I said, "You know who She-Ra is!" And he replied, "Oh, yeah... don't forget about He-Man!" We watched an episode after dinner. Cally was immediately sucked in to the 'princess of power'. Kristin turned into a little kid again, and I re-visited the 80s when I was little as I recognized more and more characters. I was surprised how much Kristin remembered - how She-Ra came to be, that He-Man is her brother...! True fan! Apparently, she had She-Ra's sword, which I don't remember... and I joked that Kristin probably didn't let us play with it. lol Cally was saying "She-Ra" but called her "Princess Elena" as well. lol (trouble posting video... boo!)
