11/11/11 - Happy Birthday, Cally!

Cally turned 3 yesterday! Her day included a trip to the Morris Arboretum near where I work. Later that evening, Mom, Dad, Kelli, Sal, Ashley, David, and Nancy joined us for dinner. We did not get the table that we reserved, our bread was cold, but free appetizers, a couple bottles of wine, and good laughs calmed the adults down. It was fun watching Cally enjoy her birthday dinner - interjected with gifts and a birthday song and cake at the end. She was absolutely delighted by the evening. Maya was initially cranky and tired but pulled it together to be such a happy kid - thanks to Mike and Sal. :)

Pumpkins

I know I'm a little late, but I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!

"Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat, Happy Halloween!"

"Trick or treat! Trick or treat! Happy Halloween!"
"I'm trying, Mom, but my molars that are coming in really hurt!"

Ariel on land for the night! ...in rain boots.

Everyone had a great time on Halloween! Mom came over. Unfortunately, Maya was not up for tricks or treats; she went to bed early (...and walked around the next day in the house with her pumpkin pail - one day too late kid!!!). We started the day off at my co-worker Steve's house who lives close by (who went to the same PT school as Kristina). Mom and I were impressed by Cally telling us that you have to sing, "Trick or treat! Trick or treat! Happy Halloween!", which she learned from 'Little Einsteins'! I had no idea! She just told us that; she was really paying attention to Disney's Halloween shows! LOL Cally continued the hunt for treats in our court. Mike handed out candy. The ostrich made its second apprearance. Neighbors remembered it from last year, and passing trick-or-treaters got a laugh. The ostrich is starting to become a celebrity; a few kids wanted a picture with it! LOL We finished the evening hanging with mom, Nancy, and Mike's dad.

House on the Lake

Well kids, we took the plunge, as it were, and bought a house in Bridgton, Maine on Highland Lake not far from our camp. It’s a fixer-upper, needs some TLC. We hope you’ll all come visit. It’s a year round deal: water sports in summer, skiing, skating, snowshoeing in winter, hiking in the Whites anytime. All are always welcome! Here are a few photos.

October Happenings!

Slumber party in Cally's room after movie night!!!
Halloween Movie Night at my house... This year we watched the original 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' movie. Good food and company, good punch (next time, half the amount), and "hey...where were did the canolies go?"

The first time I had pumpkin seeds was when we toasted some at Aunt Linda and Uncle Pete's apartment in English Village. I finally did it! I couldn't stop eating them!!! :)

Carving/painting our pumpkins Halloween Eve!

Unreal! In October!!! My poor mums!!!! :)

Aftermath of WVU at Rutgers football game. Since I we missed our friends' Halloween party, I dressed up as a football player to the game. I was your sidelined player...with rain boots. "I look like a pirate!"

True or false... Kristina's boot/sock is soaked... TRUE! But she was a trooper the entire day! All that was left of her poncho was a sweet tie! LOL (at Gavin's at home after the game where we all met up after EVERYONE'S ELECTRICITY WAS OUT!!!)

At the WVU vs. Rutgers football game at Rutgers with several friends and cuz. Tailgate was ruined but at least we got in one game of cornhole!!!

At Longwood Gardens with my friend, Barclay, and her daughter Rollins. Look at the bug taking off in the treehouse!

Pumpkin (or as Cally says, 'punkin') picking at Merrymeade!

An afternoon at Camden aquarium with college friend, Lauren, and her two boys. The hippos are amazing!

Yikes! Lots of pics but a lot of fun times!
