"I Love Maya!"

Mike brought Maya into our room and plopped her on Cally's lap. Maya was of course all smiles looking at her big sister. We asked Cally if she wanted to hold Maya, and she nodded her head. We flipped her around so they could watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse together. Cally kissed Maya, stroked her arm, and said, "I love Maya!" It was so sweet! Aunt Mary, I am enjoying watching these sisters. Having two wonderful sisters myself, it's neat being the mom and seeing the sisterly bond grow right in front of me.

Happy Spring! Oh wait, it's snowing.

Well after Thursday and Friday of last week we were ready to pack away the snow boots. Box up the jackets. Heave the feather blankets. NOT SO FAST, New Englanders. Winter is not over yet. As I sit typing this post, white flakes are falling from the sky. My furnace is still plugging away down there and those tulips, daffs and crocus that I uncovered are not happy. I should know better. After all, it is only March. In like a lion, out like a lamb, right?!

On a happier and more uplifting note, we're all healthy and loving our new house. Harper is talking so much now. She's getting to be such a big girl. She loves to keep tabs on where her "Gumpa" is, if "Ma" is coming over in her "caaah," when we'll see "Mai Mai" again and "Guh," well that little brown rat is always on her mind. She's a very fast runner, loves to get her haircut and can eat you out of house and home.

We're anxious to see you all this Spring/Summer. Hoping to make a trip down in late May for a baby bump status update (Mark & Stacy!!). Yeah! More babies to add to the brood.

Love and miss you all,
Sara

She must do everything I do. Including towel on head after bath time!

The Moose Is on the Loose!!!

Had to post this. The girls, Otis, and I took a walk down to the field to play. Maya wore the 'moose' outfit for the first time. Kristina got it for Cally. Cally wore it for the first time up in Maine. It's a little reindeer suit, but we all called it the 'moose' suit! Too cute! ...and looks so comfy! :)

Family Time!

Mike and I both have the entire weekend off at the same time, which doesn't happen often. We started out the morning at a group run/pancake breakfast held by a local running store. It was the first time for me using our new double jog stroller (getting that was a story and a story that I can now laugh at, which I can forward to you if interested). Good workout on the legs. Mike and I ran 3 miles together - first time every running together. I was so proud of Mike! We are doing this Tough Mudder Run in April with Kelli and some other friends, which we are so not ready for (but oh, well!). The girls had fun. Cally found us a golden egg on the way back - hidden by the owners for prizes, and Maya made lounging in that stroller look REALLY good! Some pics from the run and some crocus flowers popping up in front of our house to hopefully melt a few more inches of snow up north this weekend.

Spring what??

Thanks for your optimism Aunt Linda, however we are dealing with the "butt" breaking stuff here like Aunt Mary is up-up North...This was my car Monday morning, 1/4-1/2 inch of ice and several inches of snow. And we are expecting more of the ice/rain/snow stuff tonight!! Spring cannot come soon enough!

A Little Story To Make You Smile :)

On the way home from ballet class yesterday evening, Olivia excitedly told me she wanted to get home and pick a flower to give to her Grandma who lives with the Angels. She continued to say, "Maybe someday Grandma will leave the Angels and come and visit me, because I never met her." In that instant my heart broke into a million pieces. Choking back my tears, I explained that when someone goes to live with the Angels, they're not allowed to come back. However, we can talk to our Grandma anytime we want. Olivia of course responded with, "Will Grandma, talk back to us?" After a long "Wellllll...." from me, I finally told her, "No you won't hear Grandma talk back to you, but she will definitely be listening...always."

After all of this, Olivia still wanted to give Grandma her flowers, very badly. I finally suggested that when it was time for bed, she should put the flower under her pillow. When she was sleeping, an Angel would come down from Heaven, get the flower and take it back to give to Grandma. She was so excited to do this that when we got home she went straight to bed, being sure to put the little flower under her pillow.

This morning when Olivia Regina woke up, she immediately checked under all of the pillows, around the bed, and throughout the bedroom. All the while, not saying a word. When she was done, she sat on the bed with a big grin. I asked, "Olivia what are you doing?" She sat there holding her response, still smiling and looking around. Finally, with that big grin, she said, "Can I have some pancakes?"

How happy was that little girl in knowing that last night her Grandma, whom she has never met but feels so much love for, received the pretty little purple flower that she picked just for her.

...and how proud was I to be her Mom.

Don't worry family north of Pottstown...Spring is on its way!!
